Piermont Road Closed After Sleeping Trucker Crashes In Rockleigh

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- Piermont Road near the Rockland County border remained closed into the evening rush after a box truck crashed in Rockleigh.

The driver -- who apparently fell asleep behind the wheel -- checked out OK after hitting a utility pole around 1:30 p.m., responders said.

The road north of Rockleigh Road remained closed in both directions while responders waited for an Orange & Rockland crew.
